Why We Invested in Meticulous

You haven't really gotten to know a founder until you've tried to close a deal over the noise emanating from a 7-piece mariachi band.
Back when we were first getting to know Gabe and Quentin, I and the rest of the Chemistry team took the Meticulous team to lunch in the Mission. Plan was La Taqueria, but of course the line was out the door, so we wandered around and found a random spot instead. Right as we sat down, a mariachi band walked in, all seven of them. We couldn't hear ourselves think, let alone talk business.
Gabe and Quentin are, fittingly, exactly as meticulous as the company’s name suggests, the kind of precise, obsessive founders you want building something you're trusting to catch bugs even before you introduce them. That lunch was just the start, and the more time we've spent with them, the more convinced we've become that they're solving a really hard problem in exactly the right way.
And that's the beauty of Meticulous: AI has made writing code fast. It hasn't made knowing whether that code actually works any easier. Meticulous solves this by predicting what will break before you ship, visualizing it so you catch the bug before it's live, instead of writing and maintaining endless test suites.
Most code today is AI-generated, vibe coded to generate an exact given description of what we want created or changed. But what this misses are the interdependencies and existing code footprint that gets broken through the new commits. Meticulous predicts all of this - allowing developers to make change with full confidence – knowing every single one of the downstream implications. That turns out to be a big deal, one that is becoming exponentially more important as AI automates the creation and running of software.
Customers, like ElevenLabs, Wiz, Dropbox, Notion, WealthSimple, Weights & Biases, and LaunchDarkly, describe it as a secret weapon. The business is on fire too with 5x revenue growth. The team is just beginning to build out their US ops. If interested, check out their open positions here.
We are so excited to lead Meticulous’ $15M Series A. Congrats Gabe, Quentin, and the entire team!
